Social Distancing up a tree? No problem!

Well here we are, the start of 2021. I guess we all hope it’s going to be nothing like last year, because last year was definitely a strange year for me to say the least. On the one hand, we all went through a global pandemic. It was scary, sad and challenging. It was frustrating having to listen to our ‘leaders’ telling us more things we can’t do on a weekly basis. And at the minute, that’s still the case. BUT, and there’s always a but. 2020 was the year that my son was born. He’s some craic. He keeps me and my wife on our toes that’s for sure. So in just about every way possible, 2020 changed my life. But when it comes to my job, my passion, not a lot has changed. Thankfully.

Of course there’s been some day to day changes whilst on the job; wearing face masks, sanitising our hands, and keeping our distance from clients. But trust me when I say that some things - regardless of the current situation we all find ourselves in - don’t change.

Your trees still need pruning and removing, hedges still need trimming and shaping.

My 2020 customers were great, they were all a joy to work with. We kept our 2 metres apart during the quoting and discussion of work phase. Then, from the comfort of their own home, they allowed us to crack on with the task at hand. Customers are always welcome to watch my tree-top acrobatics; I’m sure it beats watching daytime TV for the millionth time!

It is a very strange and frightening time that we are living through, but when it comes to this industry, to arboriculture, the health of your trees and the condition of your garden is still something I hope you’ll spare a moments thought for. After all, we’re all spending a considerable amount of time at home, so why not make your outdoor space as enjoyable as possible?

Here at Woodstock Tree & Garden Care, we’re working safely and we’re open for business as usual. Stay safe everyone, and see you soon.
